More about this camp

The Kings Oxford Summer Academy runs two-week academic programmes in Oxford for students aged 15 to 17. Unlike the Kings network's general-English summer centres, this is a subject-focused academy. Programme and activities. Three academic strands are offered: Business & Economics, STEM, and Medicine. These are pre-university-style programmes rather than language courses, so they suit an academically motivated older teenager exploring a subject before higher education. Families should read what each strand covers before choosing. Accommodation. Students stay in single en-suite rooms at the Wavy Gate residence, in the vibrant Cowley student district of Oxford. Single en-suite rooms are a comfortable, private standard suited to an older student. Families should confirm what supervision applies outside teaching hours. Ages, dates and duration. The academy is for ages 15 to 17 — the oldest, narrowest band in the Kings network, consistent with the academic, pre-university focus. Programmes run two weeks, with five arrival dates from late June. Location and travel. Cowley is in east Oxford, close to the city centre. Oxford is around an hour from London and Heathrow by coach. Transfer arrangements are not published. Who the programme may suit. This academy may suit academically motivated teenagers aged 15 to 17 who want a subject-focused, pre-university experience in Oxford — Business, STEM or Medicine — rather than a general English course. It is not for younger children or for families wanting a language camp; for general English, the Kings network's UK boarding-school and city centres are the comparison.
