More about this camp

The Kings Bournemouth Summer Centre runs Kings Experience Bournemouth at the year-round Kings Bournemouth school, near the town centre and beaches on England's south coast. It accepts students aged 12 to 17. Programme and activities. Students take 15 hours of English lessons per week alongside activities and excursions. Bournemouth's beaches and seaside-town character shape the activity side, and the school operates year-round rather than being a summer-only rental. Accommodation and meals. Unlike the Kings boarding-school centres, this one uses homestay with carefully selected local families, in single or twin rooms; students under 16 may book a maximum arrangement the provider specifies. Homestay means students travel to the school each day and spend evenings with the family rather than under school supervision — a different proposition from the network's residential centres. Families should confirm meal arrangements and typical travel times. Ages, dates and duration. The centre accepts students aged 12 to 17. Fifteen arrival dates are listed from mid-June, a wide calendar. Location and travel. Bournemouth is on the Dorset coast, well connected by rail to London and with its own airport. Transfer arrangements are not published. Who the programme may suit. This centre may suit families who want a seaside town with genuine British homestay immersion rather than a boarding-school campus, and who are comfortable with daily travel to the school. It may suit less well families wanting on-site residential supervision — for that, the Kings network's Ascot, Bath and Berkshire boarding-school centres are the relevant comparison.
