About
About the Course
Students step into the role of a lawyer working in London. The programme is built from career simulations rather than lectures: arguing a human rights case in London's Supreme Court, representing a client in a mock murder trial through police interviews, bail applications, cross-examination of witnesses and a closing speech, representing a corporate client in negotiations, and representing a nation in an international treaty negotiation. Sessions are led by practising lawyers from firms specialising in criminal, corporate, human rights, family and international law. Contact time rises with the package length, from twenty-five hours on the one-week programme to sixty-five hours on the two-week Enhanced package.
What’s Included
The school offers a special discount - ask us for details.
The programme is sold in three lengths - one week, two weeks, and a two-week Enhanced package - and each can be booked with or without the residential package. The programme fee covers contact time with practising professionals, hands-on career simulations, programme materials and equipment, excursions to professional workplaces, on-site safeguarding and pastoral care, and a digital certificate. The Enhanced package adds an assessment centre with feedback, a graduation ceremony with a physical certificate, and the Level 3 Award in Work Experience and Career Planning, which carries UCAS points. The residential package adds the room, breakfast and dinner, and the evening and weekend activity programme.
Accommodation
Residential students live on university campus in central London, in halls of residence used by University of London students including those from UCL and LSE. The school names Garden Halls, College Hall, International Hall and Frances Gardner House among the halls it typically occupies. All rooms are single and en-suite. The one-week programme includes six nights and the two-week programmes thirteen nights. Non-residential students arrange their own accommodation.
Meal Plan
Breakfast and dinner are included for residential students as part of the residential package.
Activities & Excursions
An evening and weekend activity programme runs for residential students. During the programme students travel out to real workplaces and industry venues across London - up to two excursions on the one-week programme and up to five on the two-week programmes.
Facilities
Teaching is based on the UCL and University of London campuses in central London, with certain days held in other industry locations across the city, including London's Supreme Court and the offices of city law firms. The Enhanced package also uses the LSE campus.
Camp Experience
Students finish with a certificate and an industry reference letter for university and job applications. On the Enhanced package the work is assessed for a Level 3 Award in Work Experience and Career Planning, which carries UCAS points. Residential students are supported around the clock by a designated Pastoral and Activity Leader, house parents, centre managers and a medical office.
