About

About the Course

The programme is built around hands-on career simulations rather than lectures. Students design a business strategy to create a multi-billion dollar company, with coaching and feedback from working entrepreneurs at every step; create a bespoke sales and marketing campaign; collaborate with software engineers to develop their own FinTech app; and pitch their business ideas to a group of entrepreneurs and investors in a Dragon's Den style venue. No prior study of business is required to attend.

What’s Included

The school offers a special discount - ask us for details. Three options are published: a first-week taster, the full two-week experience, and a two-week enhanced package. Every option includes hands-on career simulations, programme materials and equipment, a digital certificate, on-site safeguarding and pastoral care, time on the UCL campus and excursions to professional workplaces. The enhanced package adds more contact hours with professionals, an assessment centre with feedback on core skills, and bespoke professional development with application and interview coaching. Each option can be taken with or without the residential package.

Accommodation

Residential students stay in a private, single, ensuite bedroom at university halls of residence in central London. The residential package includes breakfast and dinner in the accommodation canteen, evening and weekend social activities, and round-the-clock safeguarding and pastoral support from a designated pastoral and activity leader, house parents, centre managers and a medical office. Non-residential students arrange their own accommodation and attend the daytime programme only.

Meal Plan

Breakfast and dinner are served in the accommodation canteen for residential students as part of the residential package. Meals for non-residential students are not included.

Activities & Excursions

Excursions to professional workplaces and venues in London are part of the programme, including London's startup district. Residential students also take part in organised social activities on evenings and at weekends.

Facilities

Teaching is based at University College London and the surrounding University of London campus, with certain days held at other key industry locations in London. Residential students are housed in university halls of residence in central London.

Camp Experience

Students are coached through the simulations by entrepreneurs from start-ups in consumer goods, financial technology, human capital and other fields, and attend private networking sessions with them. Career coaching covers work experience, extra-curricular activities, applications and interviews. Work completed on the programme can be assessed for a Level 3 Award in Work Experience and Career Planning, worth 8 UCAS points; participants receive a personalised certificate and an industry reference letter after the online assessment. Around half of students come from outside the UK, and the programme is delivered by native English speakers.

The Entrepreneur Summer Experience is a hands-on work experience programme in entrepreneurship in London for students aged 15 to 18, where students step into the role of an entrepreneur through career simulations and site visits. It can be taken as the first week only, a taster with up to 2 excursions to professional workplaces, or as the full two-week programme, which adds up to 5 professional site visits in total, private networking, a graduation ceremony, an industry reference letter and assessment for a Level 3 Award in Work Experience and Career Planning. This is the residential option: students stay in a private single en-suite room in university halls of residence in central London, with breakfast and dinner, evening and weekend activities, 24/7 pastoral support and escorted travel to programme venues.

Sessions run Monday to Friday as hands-on career simulations, masterclasses and workplace visits led by industry professionals, with 25 hours of contact time with professionals per week. Students often work in rotating groups of around 6 to 10, and the programme is delivered in English by native English speakers.

The first week covers the entrepreneurial mindset, building a business strategy and identifying a unique selling point, branding and design with a graphic designer, the fundamentals of business finance and start-up funding, and pitching ideas to founders and CEOs in a Dragon's Den style challenge. The second week adds product development with a product design engineer, advertising and social media marketing, sales and networking, a FinTech forum where teams design an app concept, and a business expo where students showcase their product to industry experts. Students taking the first week only cover the first-week content.
