The CDC Performance October half-term training camp takes young ski racers to the Hintertux glacier in Austria, where reliable early-season glacier snow and varied terrain make it a strong setting for technical improvement, equipment testing and building on-snow volume before the winter race season. Run by CDC Performance's coaching team, it welcomes skiers from minis, who must be accompanied by an adult, through children's race groups to FIS-level athletes, as well as newer skiers keen to experience racing. Athletes develop foundation technique and tactics with daily video analysis and fitness in a supportive team environment. Skiers can stay with the group on a residential basis at the team's partner hotel apartments (inlier) or attend by the day (outlier). Best for ski-racing families looking for an autumn glacier training camp with experienced British race coaching and a residential option. Families should confirm final dates, current prices, availability, flights, airport transfers, insurance and supervision arrangements directly with the provider; dates, prices and availability may change.

About

About the Course

The programme suits minis (accompanied by an adult), children's race groups and FIS-level athletes, and also welcomes newer skiers who want to try racing.

What’s Included

The residential (inlier) package brings athletes together as a team, with coaching, accommodation, meals, lift pass, video analysis, fitness, airport and in-resort transport and pastoral care included. A day-only (outlier) option is available for those making their own arrangements: it covers coaching, video analysis and fitness, while lift pass, lunch and accommodation are not included for outliers.

Accommodation

Residential athletes stay together at partner hotel apartments in Hintertux, set up for ski teams. Places are limited, so families who want to stay with the group should book early. The lift is a short drive from the accommodation, so having your own transport is advisable for anyone staying independently.

Meal Plan

Meals are included for residential (inlier) athletes as part of the team package. Lunch is not included for day-only (outlier) participants.

Activities & Excursions

The camp centres on alpine ski racing on the Hintertux glacier: coached on-snow sessions, race technique and tactics, equipment testing and fitness. There is also an opportunity to try and buy equipment through a partner ski shop in resort.

Facilities

Training takes place on the Hintertux glacier, which offers reliable early-season snow and varied terrain. Residential athletes are accommodated at partner hotel apartments designed for ski teams.

Camp Experience

A supportive, team-focused camp where young ski racers build early-season volume and confidence before the winter season. Coaches provide pastoral care alongside technical training, and newer skiers are welcomed into the group.

More about this camp

The Hintertux October Half-Term Ski Race Camp is an autumn alpine training camp run by CDC Performance on the Hintertux glacier in Austria. Held over the October half-term break, it is designed to help young ski racers make technical improvements, test equipment and build a big volume of on-snow skiing before the winter race season begins. The glacier setting offers reliable early-season snow and a good variety of terrain, making it a practical choice for pre-season preparation. The camp is suitable for a wide range of ages and abilities, from minis through children's race groups to FIS-level athletes. Minis are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult, and the camp is also open to newer skiers who want to experience race training and become part of the team. Coaching focuses on foundation technique and race tactics, supported by daily video analysis and fitness work, so that athletes are well prepared to move into intense race training later in the season. Families can choose how their child takes part. Residential athletes (inliers) stay with the group at partner hotel apartments set up for ski teams, with coaching, accommodation, meals, lift pass, video analysis, fitness, airport and in-resort transport and pastoral care included in the package. A day option (outliers) is available for those who make their own arrangements; this covers ski coaching, video analysis and fitness, while lunch, lift pass and accommodation are not included for day participants. The camp can be booked as a single week or as a longer stay across the half-term period, and places at the partner accommodation are limited, so early planning is advisable. Flights are arranged separately by families, and there is also an opportunity to try and buy equipment through a partner ski shop in resort. Parents should confirm final dates, current prices, availability, flight and airport transfer details, insurance, medical support and supervision arrangements directly with the provider before making travel plans, as dates, prices and availability may change.
