About

About the Course

The programme offers two distinct pathways. The English + Football option includes 15 hours of classroom-based English lessons per week, delivered in modern classrooms with interactive whiteboards. The English programme follows a project-based approach with two pathways: the English Foundation Pathway for levels A1 to C1 focuses on building functional English and everyday communication, while the Step-Up English Pathway for levels B2 to C2 develops skills for academic, professional and leadership settings. Lessons use authentic, up-to-date materials rather than textbooks. The Football Only option provides 30 hours of intensive football coaching per week, with additional workshops and analysis sessions. All students are placed into appropriate groups based on their level, maturity and speaking confidence, and can move between pathways if ready.

What’s Included

The fees are fully inclusive and cover English language tuition, Arsenal Football Development coaching, on-site accommodation and three meals a day, airport transfers on Sunday arrival and Saturday departure from specific airports at specific times, English reports and end-of-course certificates, fully supervised evening activities, student travel insurance, 24/7 welfare and medical support, and a two-day cultural excursion package for students staying two or more weeks.

Accommodation

The venue offers high-quality student residences in secure on-site boarding houses for boys only. Each house has a dedicated house parent to look after students' wellbeing. Most rooms have 1-2 beds, with a few rooms of 4 to 8 beds for younger students. Bathrooms are shared. All boarding houses have comfortable social spaces and common rooms where students can relax during free time and in the evening.

Meal Plan

Full board is provided, with meals held in the historic main dining hall. The menu features a diverse blend of British and international cuisine. Two hot choices are always available for lunch and dinner, accompanied by a complimentary salad bar. Vegetarians and individuals with special diets for medical reasons can be accommodated upon special request before the course starts.

Activities & Excursions

After a full day of activities, the camp offers a fun and varied programme of evening entertainment organised by a dedicated team. Events include talent shows, ice-breakers, energetic team games, festivals, challenge nights, and Race Night. All activities are carefully supervised and suitable for different ages, with separate Junior and Senior events on some evenings. Weekend excursions are included for students staying two or more weeks: Saturday recreational excursions include a behind-the-scenes guided tour of the Emirates Stadium for football students, while Sunday cultural excursions feature a London walking tour to famous landmarks such as Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, and Trafalgar Square. All excursions are fully supervised by experienced staff.

Facilities

The campus is set within 500 acres of picturesque parkland in Hertfordshire, just 20 miles north of Central London. The historic yet modern campus provides elite football facilities, including top-quality pitches that are often used by Premier League Football Academies, including that of Arsenal FC, for training and matches. The secure and beautifully maintained grounds have clearly defined pathways between boarding houses, football pitches, dining areas, and social spaces. Students have access to a range of on-site facilities designed to support both athletic progression and social engagement.

Camp Experience

Exsportise has over 30 years of partnership with Arsenal. The programme is led by an excellent team of UEFA-qualified Arsenal Head Coaches, who adapt the training to each age group and ability level. The coaching follows the Strong Young Gunner model, focusing on four key areas: becoming effective team players, efficient movers, lifelong learners, and developing a champion mentality. The school maintains an industry-leading staff-to-student ratio of one staff member to four students, with dedicated House Parents, on-site Medical Officers, and a specialist Welfare Manager providing 24/7 support. The camp has achieved a British Council area of strength in care of students and safeguarding under 18s, with 5-star Medical care. The Team Orange philosophy underpins the camp experience, focusing on authenticity, resilience, teamwork, and care.

The English + Football programme offers students the opportunity to combine structured English language learning with professional football coaching. The main goal is to improve both linguistic fluency and football skills while developing confidence, teamwork, and a champion mentality. The unique approach integrates classroom-based English lessons with on-pitch training in the Arsenal way, using the Strong Young Gunner model that focuses on becoming effective team players, efficient movers, and lifelong learners.

Students receive 15 hours of classroom-based English lessons per week, taught by qualified EFL teachers in modern classrooms equipped with interactive whiteboards. The English programme follows a project-based approach with two pathways: the English Foundation Pathway for levels A1 to C1 focuses on building functional English, practical grammar, and everyday communication through group projects and real-life language use. The Step-Up English Pathway for levels B2 to C2 develops skills for real-world academic, professional, and leadership settings through seminars, presentations, debates, and projects inspired by real industries. Lessons use authentic, up-to-date materials rather than textbooks, reflecting how English is used in life beyond the classroom. On arrival, students are placed into the appropriate pathway based on their level, maturity, and speaking confidence, and can move between pathways if ready. Students also receive 15 hours of football coaching per week, delivered by an excellent team of UEFA-qualified Arsenal Head Coaches. The coaching follows the Arsenal Football Development philosophy and recreates the all-round experiences of professional players. Through tailored drills, small-sided games, and match play in ability groups, students learn and progress in the same techniques, skills, and Game IQ taught at Arsenal's Hale End Academy. All sessions are adapted to each age group and ability level, ensuring every player is challenged at the right pace and builds confidence. Students are placed in suitable training groups based on their current level after a skills assessment on arrival.

The course is focused on improving both English language fluency and football skills through structured classroom lessons and professional coaching.

More about this camp

Haileybury Summer Camp takes place at Haileybury School in the Hertfordshire countryside, north of London. It is a residential English and Arsenal Football camp, and it is for boys only. Please read this first. Unlike the academic Haileybury International Summer School on the same campus, this camp accepts boys only and combines English with football. Families with a daughter should look at the academic programme or elsewhere in the catalogue; families with a son interested in football will find this the relevant Haileybury option. Programme and activities. The English and Arsenal Football camp combines English tuition with football coaching delivered under the Arsenal banner. It is a sports-focused camp, so it suits a boy who plays football or wants to commit to it. Families should ask the provider what the Arsenal partnership involves in practice, as such arrangements vary. Accommodation and supervision. The venue offers high-quality student residences in secure on-site boarding houses, for boys only. The secure on-campus setting suits a younger boy, though parents should still ask about staff-to-child ratios and supervision, particularly at the younger end of the range. Ages, dates and duration. The camp accepts boys aged 9 to 15. Six sessions are listed, beginning in early July, a good spread of dates. Location and travel. Haileybury is near Hertford in Hertfordshire, north of London, within reach of Stansted, Luton and Heathrow. Transfer arrangements are not published. Who the programme may suit. This camp may suit families with a son who wants to combine English with football coaching in the Arsenal programme, in a secure boarding-school setting, and who is comfortable in a boys-only environment. It does not suit girls, who are not accepted. Families wanting an academic rather than sports focus should look at the Haileybury International Summer School on the same campus, which is co-educational.
