GLE Junior is a UWC Atlantic Short Course in Global Systems Leadership for 13–14 year olds. The programme invites students from around the globe to learn through play, movement, hands-on exploration, nature, storytelling and international friendship. It is designed to spark confidence, nurture individuality and help young people grow in a supportive, exciting international community, leaving with new skills, new friends and a stronger sense of who they are and what they care about. The course is accredited as a UWC Short Course and serves as a stepping stone toward the GLE programme for ages 15–17 and deeper UWC engagement.

There are no traditional classroom lessons — learning is play-based and experiential, delivered through outdoor adventure, creative workshops, dynamic games, ecology, theatre, Welsh and Celtic folklore, and guided reflection. A diverse international cohort explores global systems, sustainability and different models of leadership through movement, storytelling, biomimicry challenges, ecosystem mapping and team challenges, with the land and sea of coastal Wales acting as a living classroom. The course is conducted in English.

The course focuses on building confidence, collaboration and a first understanding of leadership as curiosity, service and collective action, through play-based, outdoor and intercultural learning in an international community.
