The junior programme at LSI London Hampstead takes students aged 12 to 17. Younger children aged 6 to 11 can study at the centre only when a parent or guardian travels with them and stays responsible for them outside lesson hours, and that option covers tuition alone.
Twenty lessons of 50 minutes each week, which comes to a little under 17 contact hours. Classes hold 11 students on average and 16 at the most, spread across the centre’s 14 classrooms.
Students on the full package live with a host family in a twin room within a thirty-minute travelling distance of the school, and eat breakfast and dinner with the family. LSI also runs halls of residence in London. The tuition-only option does not include accommodation or meals.
Sunday. LSI’s own weekly timetable sets Sunday aside for arrival and departure and for time with the host family, and lessons run from Monday.
Afternoons go to organised activities and to London: walking tours of Hampstead, Camden Market, the Natural History and Science Museums, Westminster and a boat trip on the Thames, with a full-day excursion each weekend. Longer optional trips to Oxford, Paris, Amsterdam and Edinburgh are arranged separately by the school.
