LSI Junior English Camp in Cambridge

Students aged 12 to 17 take 20 lessons of 50 minutes each week, which works out to just under 17 contact hours. Junior classes hold 14 students on average and 18 at most. Teaching uses communicative methods built around real-life situations and project work rather than exam drilling, and the centre teaches in 12 classrooms.

Three ways to book. Tuition only covers the lessons and nothing else. The middle option adds lunch on school days together with the activity programme. The full package adds full-board residential accommodation at the Abbey College residence, so a single weekly figure covers teaching, meals, a room and activities.

Students on the full package stay in a single en-suite room at the Abbey College residence on full board. The tuition-only and lunch-and-activities bookings do not include a room, so families arrange their own stay. LSI also places junior students in homestays within a thirty-minute catchment of the school at some centres.

The full package is full board, so breakfast, lunch and dinner are provided at the residence. The lunch-and-activities package includes lunch on school days only. The tuition-only booking does not include meals.

LSI runs five morning or afternoon activities each week for students on the activity-inclusive packages, with a full-day excursion at the weekend and an optional day trip on the Saturday. Sunday is kept free as an arrival and departure day.

The school has 12 classrooms, a student lounge, a computer room with free WiFi and a garden where students can sit between lessons. Residential students are housed at the Abbey College residence in single en-suite rooms.

LSI Cambridge sits on Tenison Road, a quiet residential street within walking distance of both the railway station and the city centre. Cambridge is a compact university city, and its colleges, museums, bookshops and river are all close to the school.
