We'll let you know when this camp adds new dates.

Concorde International runs this residential English summer course for teenagers on the modern Canterbury Christ Church University campus, in the heart of Canterbury's UNESCO World Heritage city centre. The centre takes individual students aged fourteen to seventeen and keeps them on one campus for lessons, accommodation and free time. Teaching is in ten classrooms, each with a whiteboard, computer, DVD and TV, with large common areas and gardens for breaks. The location is a short walk from the cathedral, the Whitefriars Shopping Centre and the bus station, with direct transport links to Eurostar International and London. Supervision and welfare cover both the campus and the accommodation, and the mix of nationalities is part of what the operator sells: it is a place for an individual student to make friends from many countries.

About

About the Course

General English on a modern university campus for teenagers aged fourteen to seventeen. Lessons run in ten classrooms, each equipped with a whiteboard, computer, DVD and TV. The centre takes individual students rather than closed groups, so classes mix nationalities.

What’s Included

The fee covers tuition, full-board residential accommodation, the activity programme and excursions. Supervision and welfare cover the campus and the accommodation alike.

Accommodation

Single study en-suite university rooms, arranged in flats of three to nine rooms, with a capacity of one hundred and twenty students. Each flat has its own kitchen and common room for socialising, and staff live in the accommodation to supervise and assist as needed. Full-board catering is on the nearby university campus.

Meal Plan

Full board, with the catering option on the nearby university campus.

Activities & Excursions

The course fee covers an activity programme and excursions alongside the lessons. Excursions start from the campus itself: the centre is in the city centre, within walking distance of the cathedral and the shopping streets, with transport links that put London and the Eurostar terminal in reach. The operator publishes the activity and excursion programme as part of the package rather than as a list of named sessions, so the detail of a given week comes from the centre.

Facilities

Ten classrooms with whiteboard, computer, DVD and TV; large common areas for relaxing; large gardens used for break times and meetings. The campus sits in the city centre, a short walk from the cathedral, the Whitefriars Shopping Centre and the bus station.

Camp Experience

A city-centre location in a UNESCO World Heritage site, suited to a student who wants to experience Canterbury and the surrounding area. The operator describes it as a good place for an individual student to make friends with people of many other nationalities, with easy access to the city sights, shops and cafes and excellent transport links to Eurostar International and London.

Concorde International

Concorde International is an English language teaching organisation based in Canterbury, Kent, which runs residential and homestay summer courses for young learners on the campuses of independent schools and colleges across Kent and in Bath. The organisation publishes its own junior price list and junior terms and conditions, takes the registrations and the payments itself, and provides the teaching staff, the activity and excursion programme, the supervision and the airport transfers; the schools and colleges named in each course supply the classrooms, the sports facilities and, where a course is residential, the boarding houses. Teachers hold a minimum CELTA teaching qualification or equivalent, classes follow a task-based communicative syllabus, and every student receives a certificate and a progress report at the end of the course. Separate programmes are offered for individual young learners and for school groups travelling with a group leader.
