About
About the Course
General English tuition in classes of a maximum of fifteen students, taught at Concorde International’s own study centre in central Canterbury. The timetable runs to twenty-six lessons per week, equivalent to twenty classroom hours, and is built around the operator’s Academic and Activity programme so that language work in the morning is carried straight into the afternoon activities.
What’s Included
The course fee covers tuition, homestay accommodation on full board, the activity programme and excursions. Students are met on arrival by the Homestay Organiser and their host family. Tuition-only and tuition-plus-programme configurations are offered by the operator as separate options for those who do not need the full package.
Accommodation
Students live with carefully selected local host families within reach of the study centre. The operator states that junior students share a room with full board; hosts provide bed, breakfast and dinner, plus a packed lunch for the day. Families in Canterbury welcome students throughout the year, and the school is a two-minute walk from the bus station.
Meal Plan
Full board with the host family: breakfast and an evening meal at home, and a packed lunch to take out for the day.
Activities & Excursions
The Academic and Activity programme combines one full-day excursion with one half-day excursion and a multi-activity schedule, alongside local visits in and around Canterbury. Canterbury offers a variety of museums, a local sports centre and swimming pool, family parks nearby and easy access to London and other destinations.
Facilities
A city centre location with fully equipped classrooms, and use of a large multi-sports centre, tennis courts, playing fields and a swimming pool close by. The safe, pedestrianised Whitefriars Shopping Centre is a short walk away. School groups study at the centre throughout the year.
Camp Experience
Canterbury is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, known for its magnificent cathedral, its history and its culture, and a popular destination with around three million visitors a year. Three universities make it a busy and vibrant city, with high street stores alongside small independent shops and cafes to explore. Concorde International has been welcoming students to Canterbury since 1972.

Concorde International
Concorde International is an English language teaching organisation based in Canterbury, Kent, which runs residential and homestay summer courses for young learners on the campuses of independent schools and colleges across Kent and in Bath. The organisation publishes its own junior price list and junior terms and conditions, takes the registrations and the payments itself, and provides the teaching staff, the activity and excursion programme, the supervision and the airport transfers; the schools and colleges named in each course supply the classrooms, the sports facilities and, where a course is residential, the boarding houses. Teachers hold a minimum CELTA teaching qualification or equivalent, classes follow a task-based communicative syllabus, and every student receives a certificate and a progress report at the end of the course. Separate programmes are offered for individual young learners and for school groups travelling with a group leader.
