About
About the Course
Ten hours of English and ten hours of science tuition a week, in classes of no more than fourteen students, taught at intermediate to advanced level. The course runs inside the Cambridge Junior programme, so students share lessons timetable, accommodation and activities with the main course. Each student receives a certificate stating the level they reached.
What’s Included
The course fee covers tuition, accommodation on full board, the activity and excursion programme and laundry. Airport transfers from Heathrow and Stansted are included on the school's published conditions. A registration fee is charged separately and is listed under extras.
Accommodation
Students choose between a homestay and a hall of residence, the same options as the Cambridge Junior course. Homestays are inspected by the school's own Accommodation Officer, lie about three to five kilometres from the school and offer twin or triple rooms. Residences are supervised halls within a ten to twenty-five minute walk, with single or twin rooms, boys and girls on separate floors, live-in House Managers, bed linen provided and a student common room with WiFi.
Meal Plan
Full board in both homestay and residence: breakfast, a packed lunch and an evening meal every day.
Activities & Excursions
Students join the Cambridge Junior activity programme every afternoon and evening, with sports and games, craft activities, college and museum visits and punting on the River Cam, a full day excursion to London on Saturdays and a half-day trip to Bury St Edmunds.
Facilities
Lessons are held at St Andrew's College on Station Road in Cambridge, a ten minute walk from the city centre.
Camp Experience
Students who want to keep a science subject going over the summer can do so without giving up the English course or the social programme: the science hours sit inside the same timetable, with the same classmates, the same house and the same excursions.
