English & Adventure Camp: Residential Camp in the New Forest National Park

Lessons are held in the mornings and focus on developing speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills through fun, interactive activities. The teaching approach is “learn by doing” – using creative, hands‑on projects rather than only sitting and writing. Experienced English teachers lead classes, and the content is designed to explore British culture while building confidence using English. The camp supports all language levels, from beginner to advanced, and multilingual staff are available to assist with any concerns.

The base price includes all meals, English lessons (e.g., 40 lessons over two weeks), full‑day and half‑day excursions, all adventure activities, course materials, a course certificate, 24/7 support and a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), on‑site residential counsellors, and local store discounts. A deposit secures a place, with the remaining balance invoiced 12 weeks before camp and due 8 weeks before the start date; custom payment plans are available on request. Not included: pocket money (recommended £50‑100 for souvenirs or extra snacks), personal clothing and equipment, travel insurance, flights, and airport transfers (available as an optional add‑on).

Students stay in comfortable dormitory‑style accommodation in one of three on‑site buildings: The Lodge, The Barn, or The Coach House. Rooms have bunk beds or single beds, accommodating 3‑14 people per room, with separate rooms for boys and girls. Shared communal spaces are available for socialising. Staff sleep on the same floor and are always accessible; a night‑duty member completes checks, accommodation doors are alarmed overnight, and CCTV operates across the site. Bedding is provided for international students, and a laundry service is offered twice per week. Towels are not provided but can be requested.

Full board is included: breakfast, lunch, dinner, drinks, and snacks. Meals are balanced and tasty – examples include BBQs, pasta, sandwiches, salads, fish and chips, and fajitas. Fruit and snacks are always available. On excursion days, children choose their own packed lunch from a selection of sandwiches plus snacks and fruit. The camp caters for all dietary requirements and allergies – please inform when booking. A tuck shop sells chocolate, crisps, sweets, and drinks for those who bring pocket money.

Mornings are dedicated to English lessons. Afternoons are filled with adventure activities such as campfires, archery, high ropes, abseiling, climbing, raft building, kayaking, canoeing, tunnelling, crate stacking, and bushcraft – all designed to help students practise English in real‑life settings. The programme includes several full‑day and half‑day excursions to places like Oxford and Bath, where students explore British culture and practise their language skills. Evenings offer sports, team challenges, movie nights, rocket building, talent shows, and other creative or competitive events. The focus is on building confidence, communication, teamwork, and cultural immersion.

On‑site facilities include a full‑size outdoor basketball court, an outdoor swimming pool (open during summer, supervised), indoor communal areas, a dedicated campfire area, archery range, climbing wall, high ropes course, tunnel area, crate stack zone, nightline course, woodland for bushcraft, a lake for water activities, and large open fields for team games. WiFi is not accessible due to the forest location, but a hotspot is provided for students to contact home during designated phone times. Off‑site, the camp uses excursions to towns/cities such as Oxford and Bath.

Educamps Adventures is a family‑run business with years of experience. All staff are DBS‑checked, trained in first aid and emergency procedures, and led by a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL). Staff‑to‑child ratios are 1:6 for instructor‑led activities (e.g., kayaking, climbing) and 1:10 for low‑risk activities. The camp provides 24/7 supervision and pastoral care. English lessons are taught by expert teachers who use interactive, hands‑on methods. The atmosphere is friendly, inclusive, and international, with students from multiple countries. The camp helps students grow in confidence, resilience, teamwork, and leadership.
