About
About the Course
Summer College offers credit-bearing Emory undergraduate coursework across a broad range of academic subjects. Students study alongside Emory undergraduates and work toward transferable college credit recorded on an official Emory University transcript. Courses may be offered on campus or online, with online learning using Canvas and Zoom for live class interaction alongside independent course materials, readings, and assignments.
What’s Included
The academic package centers on enrollment in an Emory undergraduate course, university-level instruction, formal letter grading, and the opportunity to establish an official Emory transcript with transferable credit. Students can select from available on-campus or online course formats according to their eligibility and circumstances.
Accommodation
Summer College is nonresidential. Students taking on-campus courses must have local living arrangements and commute to Emory, while students outside the Atlanta area may participate through eligible online offerings.
Meal Plan
Summer College does not include a meal plan. Students taking a course on campus arrange their own meals; several dining options are open on campus, including the DCT dining hall. Students taking a course online eat at home.
Activities & Excursions
Summer College is an academic programme, not a camp: the enrichment sessions and Eagle Excursions that run in the Pre-College Program are not part of it. Students taking a course on campus have access to Emory facilities between classes; the rest of the time belongs to the coursework, which Emory puts at fifteen to twenty hours a week.
Facilities
Students in in-person classes can explore Emory’s campus and access its facilities. Online students participate through Emory’s digital learning environment, including Canvas and Zoom, and need a suitable computer, reliable high-speed internet connection, microphone headset, and webcam.
Camp Experience
Summer College places high school students in Emory undergraduate courses alongside current Emory undergraduates. The academic experience follows university expectations, including formal grading, responsible technology use, professional online communication, and active engagement with instructors and peers.
