Think Global!
Earlscliffe Summer School is run by Summer Boarding Courses on a coastal boarding campus in Folkestone, Kent, a short walk from the beach and the town centre and under an hour from London. It takes students aged thirteen to seventeen on two-week and four-week residential or day programmes, with three summer courses: a business Mini-MBA, a global leadership course and Think Global!, which builds English around world issues. Classes are capped at twelve students. The campus is made up of eight renovated Victorian and Edwardian buildings; boys and girls live in separate supervised accommodation, mostly in twin rooms with a few single and triple rooms, all en-suite. Two full-day excursions run each week, and afternoons and evenings carry sport, creative workshops, beach activities and paddleboarding.

About
About the Course
Three courses run in the summer. Think Global! takes world issues as its material and builds English around them, and the operator lists it among its General English courses; it opens at entry level A2 and above. Business: Mini-MBA covers in miniature the ground an MBA covers, for older teenagers at B1 and above. Global Leadership asks what leadership demands of a person and works through case material in teams, also at B1 and above. Classes are capped at twelve students. The campus page states the weekly teaching load in two different ways and does not reconcile them, so no single figure is given here.
What’s Included
The school offers a special discount - ask us for details. The residential package covers tuition and course materials, accommodation, meals, the standard excursions including entry costs, the daytime and evening social programme, Wi-Fi, a weekly laundry service, an academic progress report, a graduation certificate and student insurance. Flights and airport or train transfers are not included, though a transfer service can be arranged for a fee. A day option is sold alongside the residential one: it runs from nine in the morning until half past nine at night, includes lunch and the evening meal, and carries no accommodation or laundry. Paintball, paddle boarding, a West End musical trip and a studio tour are sold separately and have limited places.
Accommodation
The campus is made up of eight renovated Victorian and Edwardian buildings. Boys and girls live in separate supervised accommodation. Rooms are mostly twin, with a few single and triple rooms, and all have an en-suite WC and shower. Towels and bedding are provided, and residential students have a weekly laundry service.
Meal Plan
Meals are served in the dining room and mix British and international cooking. Dietary requirements can be catered for when they are notified in advance; the school names vegetarian, vegan and halal among those it will work to meet. Students on the day option receive lunch and the evening meal.
Activities & Excursions
Afternoons bring sport, creative workshops, beach activities and paddle boarding. Evenings run to bowling, karaoke, a games night, the Junkbox Challenge, a talent show, a casino night, a disco, a murder mystery, laser tag and a photo challenge, with smaller House Nights in between. Two full-day excursions go out each week; the destinations vary with the arrival week, but every student goes on the London excursion, and Canterbury and Thorpe Park are the other listed trips.
Facilities
Campus gardens, classrooms, a modern dining hall, a student common room, en-suite rooms, a laundry service and Wi-Fi throughout.
Camp Experience
The campus sits on the Kent coast, a short walk from the beach and the town centre of Folkestone, with London under an hour away. That proximity shapes the programme: the sea is part of the afternoon timetable, and the capital is a scheduled excursion rather than an expedition.
