More about this camp

The Towers sits above the valley just outside Betws-y-Coed, inside Snowdonia National Park. Camp Wilderness uses it as the base for the residential section of the Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award. Participants stay five days, take part in instructor-led adventurous activities and share camp life with people they have not met before — the point of the Gold residential. Activities draw on the mountain and water environments around the centre: climbing and abseiling, gorge scrambling and canyoning, canoeing and stand-up paddle boarding, via ferrata, mine exploration, mountain walking and bushcraft. The centre holds an AALA licence and staff hold National Governing Body awards in the technical disciplines they lead. The price covers everything on camp: indoor accommodation in the centre, all meals and snacks cooked on site, activities and staff supervision. Groups at The Towers are capped at eight participants per instructor.
