Sealyham is a Grade II listed mansion in 100 acres of Pembrokeshire grounds with its own river and woodland, nine miles north of Haverfordwest and about twelve miles from the coast. Camp Wilderness runs the residential section of the Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award here over five days. On site there are high and low ropes and orienteering; the coast adds coasteering, surfing, canoeing, kayaking, climbing and hill walking. Participants share the residential with people they have not met before, and instructors qualified through national governing bodies lead the technical activities.

The Duke of Edinburgh Gold Residential is a five-day stay at a Pembrokeshire activity centre. Participants take part in adventurous activities with qualified instructors while sharing camp life with people outside their usual social circle, which is what the Gold residential section asks for. The programme supports confidence, independence, resilience and teamwork.

Instructor-led activity sessions use both the 100-acre estate and the Pembrokeshire coast. Sessions can include high ropes, low ropes and orienteering on site, and coasteering, surfing, canoeing, kayaking, climbing and hill walking away from it. Staff provide technical instruction, supervision and support appropriate to the group and the activity. The residential setting asks participants to work with unfamiliar peers, communicate clearly and contribute to group life. Reflection after activities helps them recognise progress and take confidence from meeting outdoor challenges.

Coastal and estate adventure, independence, teamwork and personal resilience.
