About

About the Course

Fifteen full hours of English lessons a week plus five hours of arts and crafts classes. Students are placed by level and taught from elementary to advanced, and the course runs alongside the school's parallel programme for teenagers on the same campus.

What’s Included

The course fee covers tuition, residential accommodation on full board, the arts and crafts classes and the activity programme. Airport transfers from Heathrow and Stansted are included on the school's published conditions. A registration fee is charged separately and is listed under extras.

Accommodation

Students live in the school's boarding houses, a five minute walk from the main school, each with its own common room and bathroom facilities, with boys and girls accommodated separately and Select English staff supervising every building. Young Learners are placed in twin rooms, triple rooms or dormitories of six to eight beds, with students of similar age and mixed nationalities; the youngest students are in dormitories. Shower and bathroom facilities are shared, bed linen is provided and students are asked to bring their own towel.

Meal Plan

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are taken in the school's main dining hall, where the school says a good variety of meals is offered. On excursion days students are given a packed lunch.

Activities & Excursions

A full programme of afternoon and evening activities runs every day, and the school publishes an example schedule. The arts and crafts classes sit inside the teaching week rather than in the activity time.

Facilities

Culford School stands on the Culford Hall estate in four hundred and eighty acres of Grade I listed parkland, with a mix of historic and modern buildings and extensive sports facilities that students use during the course.

Camp Experience

This is the younger end of the school's summer programme, and it is built around a single campus: lessons, meals, crafts, activities and the boarding house are all within a few minutes' walk of each other inside the estate, with staff from the school supervising each building.
