About

About the Course

Twenty full hours of English teaching a week on the Culford School campus. Students are placed by level and taught from elementary to advanced, and the school runs the course alongside a parallel programme for younger students aged ten to thirteen.

What’s Included

The course fee covers tuition, residential accommodation on full board, the activity and excursion programme. Airport transfers from Heathrow and Stansted are included on the school's published conditions. A registration fee is charged separately and is listed under extras.

Accommodation

Students live in the school's boarding houses, a five minute walk from the main school, each with its own common room and bathroom facilities, with boys and girls accommodated separately and Select English staff supervising every building. Shower and bathroom facilities are shared. The school publishes room formats for its Young Learners course on the same campus — twin rooms, triple rooms or dormitories of six to eight beds, with the youngest students in dormitories. Bed linen is provided and students are asked to bring their own towel.

Meal Plan

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are taken in the school's main dining hall, where the school says a good variety of meals is offered. On excursion days students are given a packed lunch.

Activities & Excursions

Afternoon and evening activities run every day, and the course includes a full day trip to London and a full day trip to Cambridge. The school's sports facilities are available to students during the course.

Facilities

Culford School stands on the Culford Hall estate in four hundred and eighty acres of Grade I listed parkland that includes formal gardens, a lake and woodland, with a mix of historic and modern buildings and extensive sports facilities.

Camp Experience

The setting is the point of this one: a boarding school estate large enough to hold its own woodland and lake, four miles outside Bury St Edmunds, where the day moves between lessons, the grounds and the sports pitches, with the two cities nearby kept for the excursion days.
