Concorde International’s Buddy Programme places international students in a British state secondary school in Kent, attending regular classes such as Science, History or Maths alongside a ‘Buddy’ with whom they share the school day: lessons, lunch, break times, sports afternoons and extra-curricular activities. Students live with a local host family and join full-day and half-day excursions each week with the Canterbury Study Centre.

About
About the Course
Rather than a language class, the student joins the regular timetable of a British state secondary school, attending subject lessons such as Science, History and Maths alongside a Buddy of their own age. The Buddy shows them around, introduces them to friends, and shares the whole school day: lessons, lunch, break times, sports afternoons and extra-curricular activities. The operator requires a minimum English level of pre-intermediate.
What’s Included
The fee covers homestay accommodation on full board, a place in the host school alongside a Buddy, a hot lunch at school, and the full-day and half-day excursions run each week with the Canterbury Study Centre.
Accommodation
Students live with one of the operator’s specially selected host families in the Canterbury area. The operator states that junior students share a room with full board.
Meal Plan
Full board: breakfast and an evening meal with the host family, and a hot lunch eaten at school with the student’s Buddy.
Activities & Excursions
Sports afternoons and extra-curricular activities form part of the host school’s own timetable, and the operator runs a full-day and a half-day excursion each week together with the Canterbury Study Centre.
Facilities
Students use the facilities of the host state secondary school alongside its own pupils. Concorde International works with a number of specially selected state secondary schools across Kent and the South East.
Camp Experience
This is a cultural immersion rather than a classroom course: the student lives the ordinary school day of an English teenager, with a classmate assigned to make that possible. It suits confident high-school-age students who already have a working level of English and want to use it rather than study it.

High School Integration Programme
20 Lessons · 11–14 yrs · B1–C22026 price
Full integration into a British state secondary school: the student attends the regular timetable alongside a Buddy of the same age, sharing lessons, lunch, break times, sports afternoons and extra-curricular activities. A minimum English level of pre-intermediate is required by the operator.
Students follow the host school’s regular timetable rather than a fixed number of language lessons, attending subject classes such as Science, History and Maths alongside their Buddy.
A cultural experience of life in a British state secondary school: the student shares a full school day with a Buddy of the same age and uses English in real lessons and break times, and buddy pairings often lead to friendships that last after the stay.

Concorde International
Concorde International is an English language teaching organisation based in Canterbury, Kent, which runs residential and homestay summer courses for young learners on the campuses of independent schools and colleges across Kent and in Bath. The organisation publishes its own junior price list and junior terms and conditions, takes the registrations and the payments itself, and provides the teaching staff, the activity and excursion programme, the supervision and the airport transfers; the schools and colleges named in each course supply the classrooms, the sports facilities and, where a course is residential, the boarding houses. Teachers hold a minimum CELTA teaching qualification or equivalent, classes follow a task-based communicative syllabus, and every student receives a certificate and a progress report at the end of the course. Separate programmes are offered for individual young learners and for school groups travelling with a group leader.
