Camp Cooper Edinburgh is located at Belhaven Hill School in Dunbar, Scotland, approximately 35 minutes from Edinburgh Airport. The site is right on the beach and has beautiful woodland, sports fields, and wonderful accommodation – a perfect place for a summer adventure by the sea. The camp welcomes campers aged 7‑15. One‑week and two‑week options are available. The main goal is to give children new challenges, build friendships, gain confidence, and enjoy an active outdoor summer – while naturally improving their English in a supportive, international community.

About the Course
English language tuition is offered in a supportive environment, with teachers working one‑to‑one with students to build confidence. All English levels are welcome. However, the camp is not a traditional language school; language development occurs naturally through daily interaction with campers and staff from around the world during activities, meals, and evening events.

Prices include accommodation, all meals, all activities, English tuition, evening entertainment, and full supervision. Optional extras at additional cost: airport pick‑up/drop‑off and a visa support letter.
Accommodation
Campers stay in shared dorms (warm, homely feel) with approximately 5‑10 campers per room (cabin groups of 8‑12). Bedding is provided. Bathrooms and showers are shared. Boys’ accommodation is in the main building of the camp. Campers may request to share with a friend of similar age. All accommodation is on‑campus.
Meal Plan
Full board is provided, with all meals served family‑style. Breakfast includes both continental and cooked choices. Lunch and dinner feature a salad and pasta bar as well as hot dishes, with dessert included. A bedtime snack is available each night. Special dietary needs and allergies can be accommodated.
Activities & Excursions
Activities are split into electives (campers choose two per week to specialise in), cabin activities, and all‑camp special events. Activities include: tennis, dance, journalism, mountain biking, art, music, film‑making, outdoor adventure, performing arts, football, and sports. Evening events include dance parties, music festivals, colour war competitions, singing in the dining hall, dressing up, and camp dances.
Facilities
On‑site facilities include woodland, sports fields, and accommodation buildings. Off‑campus there is a beach within a 5‑minute walk away.
Camp Experience
Camp Cooper is a family‑run business with over 20 years of experience. Staff‑to‑camper ratio is approximately 1:4. Staff are selected from over 750 applicants for 35 positions, with full background checks. The camp is accredited by the British Accreditation Council (BAC). The Edinburgh camp is known for its small and supportive atmosphere, ideal for nervous campers or those needing extra support. The atmosphere is positive, inclusive, and full of “camp spirit”.

Camp Cooper Edinburgh is a summer camp for children aged 7‑15, located on the east coast of Scotland right on the beach. The main goal is to give campers an active, fun‑filled experience where they can choose their own adventures, build life skills, make international friends, and enjoy a wide range of creative and outdoor activities. The unique approach includes daily elective sessions (two hours each weekday), cabin group activities in the afternoons, and all‑camp special events in the evenings and weekends – all in a supportive, screen‑free environment.
Each weekday, campers take part in two‑hour elective activities (totalling 8‑10 hours per week) and choose two electives from a wide range, including outdoor adventure, film‑making, English language, various sports, arts, performing arts, and dance. After their elective, campers join their cabin groups for afternoon activities led by their counsellor, such as art projects, swimming, or group games. Evenings and weekends feature all‑camp special events like themed competitions, talent shows, campfires, music festivals, and pool parties. Campers attending for at least two weeks also go on one day trip per session to Scottish cities or attractions.
The camp focuses on building confidence, creativity, teamwork, and life skills through a choice‑driven activity programme with daily electives and all‑camp events.
