Brambletye School is a welcoming preparatory boarding school located on a large country estate overlooking Sussex's beautiful Ashdown Forest in the Southeast of England. This campus provides a truly beautiful natural setting for learning and is shared only with some non-residential activity groups. The school is an exclusive partner of British Summer School for residential summer courses, offering a safe and inspiring environment for young learners. Designed for students aged 6 to 11, the Explorers of the Future course is ideal for a first-time experience of a Summer School. The all-inclusive package covers 20 hours of lessons per week, full board accommodation, sports and leisure activities, an evening social programme, weekend excursions, and transfers from selected airports and train stations. The main goal is to develop and improve students' instinctive curiosity and their growing desire to explore, understand, and learn, while building confidence in English and 21st-century skills.

About
About the Course
The course combines Core English lessons with Focus Exploration or Creation and Learning & Innovation sessions. Core English improves receptive and productive skills (reading, writing, speaking, listening), extends vocabulary, and deepens grammar understanding. Focus Exploration lessons are practical and allow students to specialise in either Exploration (studying habitats, plants, the animal kingdom, nature walks, forest school visits) or Creation (art, dance, drama, music). Learning & Innovation sessions are task-based and collaborative, developing the 4Cs of 21st-century learning: Collaboration, Communication, Creativity, and Critical Thinking. Teachers teach in a communicative, interactive, and friendly way using relevant and current topics. The maximum class size is 14. Seven levels of English are available from A1 to C1. Students complete an online placement test 2-4 weeks before arrival and a speaking/writing test on arrival.

The residential course fees are fully inclusive and include accommodation, all lessons, learning materials, full board meals, the Sports & Leisure programme, the BSS Experience evening programme, the excursion programme, transfers on standard days from Gatwick Airport, Heathrow Airport, London City Airport, and St Pancras Station, and travel insurance. Evenings are dedicated to the BSS Experience programme, which includes ice-breaker activities, team-based challenges, competitions, and social events designed to build friendships, confidence, and personal skills. Optional Pro Options are available at an additional cost, allowing students to specialise in a particular sport or activity with professional tuition. Weekend excursions provide opportunities to visit London and other places of cultural and historical interest, as well as recreational trips to the seaside.
Facilities
On-site facilities include an Astro Turf pitch, a drama theatre, a golf course, playing fields, a sports hall, an indoor swimming pool, tennis courts, and an onsite Forest School. Camp Experience
British Summer School was founded and is managed by experienced educators Steve and Yolanda, who have dedicated their careers to teaching languages and working with children. The school operates under the "True Me" internal philosophy, which focuses on helping students express themselves, understand themselves, and live authentically. Fridays include self-evaluation time where students reflect on their learning and personal growth. The school develops 21st-century skills including life and career skills, learning and innovation, and information and technology literacy. The overall staff to student ratio is at least 1:5. Each centre has a Welfare Team, Academic Team, Activities Team, and Management Team. All staff are suitably qualified and experienced. Students receive a safety induction, and the school has safeguarding policies, bullying prevention measures, and first aiders on site.
