Adventure Unleashed is a five-night residential adventure camp for 10 to 16 year olds at the Abernethy centre in Nethy Bridge, inside the Cairngorms National Park in the Scottish Highlands. Campers stay in bunk-bedded dormitories on the 25-acre site and spend four and a half action-packed days on outdoor adventure activities on and off site, which may include climbing, canoeing, archery and the zip wire. Abernethy's own instructors teach the skills and run the sessions. Evenings bring wide games and a disco, together with a session on the Christian message and small-group discussion afterwards. House parents are on site around the clock, and campers have the use of the swimming pool, tennis court, sports hall and games room.

About
About the Course
Adventure Unleashed is a multi-activity adventure camp for 10 to 16 year olds, built around four and a half full days of outdoor activity. Sessions are taught and supervised by Abernethy's own instructors, who hold the centre's qualifications and run the activities on and off the Nethy Bridge site. Activities vary with the group and the weather and may include climbing, canoeing, archery and the zip wire. There is no classroom element and no selection by ability: campers are grouped by age and work through challenges together.
What’s Included
The camp is sold as a single five-night residential package covering a bunk-bedded dormitory place, three meals a day plus snacks, the full activity programme, evening games and evening sessions, and use of the centre's swimming pool, tennis court, sports hall and games room. A deposit is payable when the booking is made and the balance before arrival. Arrival is on the Sunday afternoon, with the first meal that evening; departure is on the Friday afternoon after the last meal. An optional one-way drop-off to Perth on departure day can be added and is listed separately under extras.
Accommodation
Campers sleep in bunk-bedded dormitories on the centre's 25-acre site at Nethy Bridge. House parents are present on site around the clock and are the first point of contact for campers through the night. Accommodation is part of the camp package rather than a separate charge.
Meal Plan
Three cooked meals a day are provided, plus snacks. The first meal of the camp is dinner on the arrival evening and the last is on the morning of departure day. Catering is done by the centre on site.
Activities & Excursions
Days are spent on adventure activities either on the Nethy Bridge site or in the surrounding Cairngorms. The centre's own activity list includes an adventure course, aerial runway, archery, canoeing, kayaking, gorge walking, mountain biking and climbing, and the camp programme draws on these. Evenings are given to wide games, a disco and other group activities, followed by a session on the Christian message with small-group discussion afterwards. The centre's swimming pool, tennis court, sports hall and games room are available to campers through the week.
Facilities
The Nethy Bridge centre sits on 25 acres inside the Cairngorms National Park, surrounded by ancient Caledonian pine forest, about a 45-minute drive from Inverness and under three hours from Edinburgh and Glasgow. On site there are bunk-bedded dormitories, a dining room, a swimming pool, a tennis court, a sports hall and a games room, along with the centre's own activity installations. The river Spey and Loch Morlich are nearby for canoeing and kayaking, and the Cairngorms and the Moray coast are used for rock-climbing, coasteering and gorge-walking.
Camp Experience
Abernethy has been running adventure camps for decades and says some campers return year after year, in places across generations of the same family. The camp is explicitly Christian in character: alongside the adventure programme there is a nightly session with a visiting speaker and small-group discussion, and the stated aim is that campers grow in confidence and in faith as well as in outdoor skills. It is run as a charitable trust rather than a commercial camp operator.

Abernethy Outdoor Centres
Abernethy Outdoor Centres is a Scottish charitable trust running residential outdoor activity centres at Nethy Bridge in the Cairngorms National Park, at Barcaple near Castle Douglas in Dumfries and Galloway, and at Kilmalieu on the Ardgour Peninsula near Fort William. Alongside school residentials, Duke of Edinburgh residentials, retreats and group bookings, it runs its own adventure camps and family holidays for young people, led by its own instructors. Activities on and off site include climbing, canoeing, kayaking, archery, zip wire, gorge walking and mountain biking in the surrounding Highlands. Camps combine outdoor adventure with evening games and an evening Christian programme, and campers are looked after by house parents on site around the clock.
