Camp Wicosuta

Camp Wicosuta is a traditional sleep-away camp for girls on the shores of Newfound Lake in Hebron, New Hampshire. The camp sits on 100 acres of wooded land in the foothills of the White Mountains, about two hours from Boston and five hours from New York City, and has been running since 1920. Its programme is built on what the camp calls the Three Cs — Confidence, Competence and Community: girls try a wide range of activities, build skills at their own level and live in a community the camp keeps emotionally and physically safe. Campers are grouped by school grade, with an age-specific progressive programme that moves from a set schedule for the youngest girls to fully choice-based schedules for the older ones. Girls come from 31 states and 15 countries, cabins keep a three-to-one camper-to-counsellor ratio, and the camp is directed by Corey and Justin Dockswell and Carly Meltzer.
