The King's Canterbury Summer School

The King's Canterbury Summer School takes place at The King's School Canterbury, whose campus sits within the Precincts of Canterbury Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The camp welcomes students aged 8 to 17 and runs in two-week residential blocks; the final session of summer 2026 runs from 2 to 15 August. Mornings are built around two parallel courses. The English Language Summer School places students in classes grouped by age and English level. Global Studies is designed for fluent English speakers, with a minimum level of B2, who want an academic programme rather than language lessons. In the afternoons every student joins one of eight academies: Sports, Music, International Relations, Pre-University, Art & Design, IELTS, STEM or Business, so the day combines classroom learning with practical and creative work. Students live in the school's boarding houses in dormitory-style rooms with shared facilities, supervised around the clock by residential staff, and take three meals a day in the dining hall. Evenings bring social activities on campus, and excursions during the programme take students to London, Cambridge and the Kent coast. The two-week residential fee is £3,500, which covers tuition, full-board accommodation, the afternoon academy, evening activities and excursions. A £500 deposit secures a place, with the balance due at least six weeks before arrival. A separate Global Youth Orchestra course for advanced musicians ran earlier in the 2026 season.
