English Action Camp in Radstadt, Salzburg Region, Austria

The camp runs a single all-inclusive English programme in which language learning and the activity schedule are fully integrated. Campers are placed into ability groups on the first evening through a relaxed, game-based assessment rather than a written test, so groups are balanced from day one. Classes follow the Common European Framework and are open to complete beginners as well as confident speakers.

Twenty learning units per week of forty-five minutes each, taught exclusively by native-speaking trainers and capped at fifteen participants per class. Sessions are interactive rather than textbook-driven: role play, discussions, presentations, games and movement are built into the lesson plans. Project work runs alongside the lessons, with campers filming short movies, staging plays, conducting interviews and giving group presentations in English. Each camper receives a personal learning folder and a certificate of completion.

Four learning strands run through the whole programme: conversation, vocabulary, grammar, and country and culture. Because the language teachers also act as activity guides, English carries over from the classroom into sport, creative workshops and the evening programme, which is where most of the practice actually happens.
