Windlesham House School, founded in 1837 as the first boys' preparatory school in the UK, boasts a spacious campus located in the beautiful South Downs in West Sussex. The safe and secure location promotes a real sense of freedom with nature, making Windlesham the perfect site for young children who want to be surrounded by nature and have a real desire for adventure. The campus is set in beautiful grounds which extend over many acres of the South Downs countryside, between the villages of Washington and Findon, north of the town of Worthing. The centre offers two programmes for students aged 8 to 13. The Future Explorers course is designed to spark students' natural sense of curiosity and fulfil the need for exploration, combining 18½ hours of lessons per week with outdoor projects and thought-provoking topics. The Bear Grylls Adventure Camp offers an action-packed outdoor adventure programme inspired by the world-renowned survival expert, with 12½ hours of lessons per week and 12 hours of Adventure Activities run by Bear Grylls Survival Academy. Both programmes include accommodation, all meals, a full programme of activities and evening entertainment, three excursions per week, and access to a nurse or medical officer. The main goal is to help students build confidence, develop 21st-century skills, and equip them with soft skills for the future.

The Future Explorers programme offers 18½ hours of lessons per week, consisting of English Skills, Mission Possible, and Explorations. English Skills lessons improve general language skills, extend vocabulary and better understanding of grammar. Mission Possible lessons are dynamic sessions where students work together on real-world missions designed to build collaboration, creativity, problem-solving, and communication. Explorations lessons use CLIL methodology to develop English skills through stimulating subjects such as Science, Design & Technology, Geography, Art and History. All levels from A0 to C2 are available with a maximum class size of 14 and a staff-to-student ratio of 1:4.

The Bear Grylls Adventure Camp offers 12½ hours of lessons per week including English Skills and Mission Possible, alongside 12 hours of Adventure Activities run by Bear Grylls Survival Academy. The programme requires a minimum English level of A2. Weekly tests are conducted to check progress. The maximum class size is 14 and the staff-to-student ratio is 1:4. Students learn outdoor survival essentials including orienteering, navigation, water rescue, raft survival, shelter building, fire lighting, wild food identification, and first aid skills.

The residential course package includes a shared transfer service from London Gatwick, Heathrow, City Airport and St Pancras International, student travel insurance, accommodation, meals and snacks, tuition, course materials, report and certificate, activities and social events, excursions and attraction entry, access to a nurse or medical officer, laundry service, 24-hour emergency line and visa invitation service. Optional extras at additional cost include Conversation Confidence Academy, Film & Animation Academy, LEGO & Coding Academy, E-Kart Racing Academy, Horse Riding Academy, and Tennis Academy.

Windlesham offers separate accommodation on campus for boys and girls, with traditional and spacious bedrooms. There are typically 4 to 10 beds per room. Students share their bedroom with children of the same age and from different countries which helps them to mix, speak English and build new friendships. Shared bathrooms are located on each floor. Every house has a common room where students can relax, socialise and have fun.

Full board is provided with meals, snacks, and packed lunches on excursions.

After lessons, students participate in a variety of sports and recreational activities, choosing their preferred sport or activity. Examples include cooking, dance, drama, football, handball, short tennis, swimming and touch rugby. Social events in the evenings include discos, egg drop challenges, fashion shows, karaoke, messy games, mini Olympics, talent shows and treasure hunts. For Bear Grylls Adventure Camp students, the programme includes 12 hours of outdoor survival activities per week, culminating in the Ultimate Challenge where teams put their new skills to the test. Excursions include half-day trips on Wednesdays and full-day trips on Saturdays and Sundays to a range of cultural and recreational destinations.

On-site facilities include an Astroturf pitch, drama theatre, forest school, golf holes, indoor swimming pool, playing fields, sports hall, and tennis courts. Off-site, the centre uses excursions to various attractions and cultural destinations.

Bede's Summer School is accredited by the British Council and was awarded ten overall areas of strength in its last inspection. The school is a member of English UK and accredited by Quality English. Explorations lessons use CLIL methodology to develop English skills through stimulating subjects such as Science, Design & Technology, Geography, Art and History, giving students the chance to explore their surroundings and develop confidence in speaking. All lessons are taught in small groups with a maximum class size of 14 and a staff‑to‑student ratio of 1:4, ensuring personalised attention. All levels from A0 to C2 are available, and students take a placement test on arrival. Progress tests are carried out at the end of each week to monitor and review students' progress. The teaching methodology is communicative and interactive, with creativity and personal expression encouraged. Students also participate in a variety of sports and recreational activities in the afternoons, choosing their preferred sport or activity. Examples include cooking, dance, drama, football, handball, short tennis, swimming and touch rugby.

The course is focused on sparking curiosity, building collaboration and communication skills, and developing confidence through exploration and project‑based learning.
