King's College Soto Summer Camp — Madrid

King's College Soto Summer Camp is the international summer programme of King's College School, Soto de Viñuelas, a British school on a twelve-acre campus in quiet countryside north of Madrid. The school belongs to the King's College Schools group within Inspired Education, and the camp takes both day and residential campers from around the world. The season runs from late June into late July, and fees are published per two-week session, with a one-week option available on request. Every camper chooses one programme option for the session, and each option pairs an academic strand with a sports or arts strand. The academic strand is either language teaching — English or Spanish, taught daily by qualified bilingual staff — or S.T.E.A.M. workshops in the campus computer lab and classrooms. The sports strand comes in two levels: Core uses the onsite facilities, while Core+ adds premium sports both on campus and off site. Residential campers live in Tenbury House, a purpose-built boarding residence on the campus itself, surrounded by green space and recently fully renovated. Arrivals are on Sundays and departures on Saturdays. Supervision is continuous, and while personal phone use is not allowed during activities, campers get supervised phone time each day so families stay in touch. The kitchen serves both Spanish and international dishes, offers vegetarian and vegan options, and accommodates allergies, intolerances and special diets, with a sample weekly menu published in advance. The campus itself does a lot of the work: a football ground and five-a-side pitches, multipurpose courts, an indoor swimming pool, a riding school and a gym on the sports side; an auditorium and performing arts studio, an arts and crafts room, a computer lab and large classrooms on the academic side; plus a dining hall, a nurse's clinic and the secure boarding residence. A special activities and excursions programme runs weekly, with off-site trips to cultural landmarks, sports venues and recreational destinations, all transported by private coach. Residential campers also get a downtown Madrid excursion each session and weekly evening activities such as go-karting or laser tag. The programme fee covers teaching staff, the daily academic sessions, the sports and leisure programme, accident insurance, a parent communication and photo-sharing platform, weekly excursions depending on the option chosen, and meals. Residential fees add full boarding, the en-suite room, laundry service and the residential excursion programme. Charged separately are airport pick-up and drop-off, which the camp offers for children travelling alone, the daily bus route for day campers, and optional swimming, horse riding and robotics sessions.
