AM Language Teenage English Camp in Sliema, Malta

The teenage course covers 20 sessions of 45 minutes each week, taught in international groups with an average of 12 and a maximum of 15 students per class. Teaching focuses on grammar, vocabulary building, conversation and pronunciation, with role-play, problem solving, discussion and storytelling used to get students speaking. Classes are offered at six levels, from Beginner (A1) to Advanced (C1), and students sit a placement test at the start of their stay. Courses start on Monday and include all teaching materials and a certificate of attendance. The autumn package delivers 40 sessions with a teacher across two weeks, combining classroom lessons with outdoor sessions.

Each package covers two-way airport transfers, a welcome at the airport by an AM Language representative, a welcome pack and student card, the language assessment test, 20 sessions of English per week with all course material, a certificate of attendance, seven nights and eight days of full-board accommodation in shared rooms, the full activity programme and Guard.me insurance. Teenage summer packages are offered from 20 June to 23 August and autumn packages from 3 to 25 October. A supplement of 45 euro per week applies to courses taken in July and August. A separate course-and-activities option without accommodation is available only to teenagers travelling with a parent or guardian.

Full board is included. Breakfast, a packed lunch and dinner are served at the residence or provided by the host family, so meals are covered on lesson days, activity days and excursion days alike.

A full activity programme runs alongside the lessons. A sample summer week includes a Valletta tour, a Splash and Fun session, sandy beach afternoons, a beach club with speedboats and a day at Comino, with evening events such as a welcome party, a Sliema walk, an international students party, a disco, a barbecue night, a village festa evening and bowling. The autumn week is built around outdoor activities each afternoon, full-day coach tours at the weekend, and evenings including a town walk, laser tag in Sliema, pizza night, bowling and Independence Gardens.

The school is located in Sliema, five minutes from the town centre and close to the seafront. Activity points are around five minutes away, the residence is a 12-minute walk and host families are between 5 and 25 minutes on foot. Teaching takes place in classrooms capped at 15 students, and the residence provides co-living space, laundry facilities and communal areas for students.

Minors are supervised 24 hours a day by AM Language leaders, and the school operates a Child Protection Officer who is available around the clock together with a 24-hour welfare helpline. Students are met at the airport on arrival and accompanied on departure. Guard.me insurance is included in the package, and the school asks families to arrange travel and medical cover before arrival.
