GLS Berlin Westend Summer Camp is a residential German-language summer programme for teenagers aged 14 to 17, hosted on a modern sports campus in the upscale Westend district in the west of Berlin, about twenty minutes from the city centre. Teenagers choose between four or five German lessons a day in small international classes, stay in an on-campus guesthouse with full board, and take part in two supervised activities every day plus a full-day excursion each week. GLS staff live on campus and supervise participants around the clock.

À propos
À propos du cours
German is taught in the mornings from Monday to Friday, and the camp is the only one of the provider's Berlin programmes that lets teenagers choose the intensity: four lessons a day, or five for those who want more classroom time. Lessons last forty-five minutes and are held in international groups of no more than fifteen students. Teenagers are placed in one of four levels, from beginner to advanced, after a placement check, so newcomers and confident speakers work at their own pace.
Ce qui est inclus
The published package brings together German tuition, accommodation in the guesthouse on campus, full board, two supervised activities a day, one full-day excursion a week, insurance covering medical care, luggage and liability, and round-the-clock supervision by the provider's staff living on site. Airport and station transfers, the city travel pass and any additional nights are arranged separately.
Hébergement
Teenagers stay in a modern guesthouse on the camp campus, in rooms for two or three with their own shower and WC. Rooms are shared with other participants of the camp, and staff live in the same building. Meals are taken in the campus cafeteria, which has an outdoor terrace.
Restauration
Full board is included for every day of the stay and is served in the campus cafeteria. Meals are taken together with the group, and the terrace is used in warm weather. Dietary requirements should be raised with the provider before arrival.
Activités et excursions
Two supervised activities are organised every day. Some take place on campus — streetball and football on the sports fields, indoor games in the sports hall, and evening socialising with the group. Others take the group into Berlin: a cycling tour along the route of the Berlin Wall, boating on the River Spree, and visits to the city's best-known sights. Each week there is one full-day excursion, for example to Potsdam and Sanssouci Palace.
Installations
The camp uses a youth sports training centre in the Westend district in the west of Berlin, about twenty minutes from the city centre. The campus has bright, well-equipped classrooms, an indoor sports hall, outdoor fields for streetball and football, a cafeteria with a terrace and the guesthouse where participants sleep. The Olympic Stadium and the Waldbuehne open-air concert venue are next door, and Charlottenburg Palace, Museum Island and the Brandenburg Gate are a short ride away.
Expérience au camp
The camp hosts up to sixty teenagers from more than thirty countries, so German is used from the first day as the common language between new friends. Mornings are for lessons, afternoons and evenings for sport, the city and the group. Participants receive access to an online community after enrolling and can start meeting other campers before they arrive. Staff from the provider live on campus and supervise the group around the clock, which is what most parents ask about first.
