En savoir plus sur ce camp

The BYMT Hertfordshire Summer Camp runs from 6 to 11 August 2026 at St George’s School in Harpenden. Over six days, a company of young people aged 11–17 creates a brand-new musical from scratch — in 2026, “Professor Lowe’s Incredible Floating University”, an out-and-out 1920s musical comedy by composer and lyricist Tim Connor and writer Susannah Pearse about a professor who charters a cruise ship to take his New York students around the world. The camp provides playful, creative training in acting, singing, movement, improvisation, lyric writing and instrumental playing, delivered by experienced professional theatre-makers. The week culminates in a showcase performance for family and friends, attended by Mountview Exams examiners: every participant receives a Grade 6 Certificate in Musical Theatre in Production, and the experience can contribute to Arts Award or Duke of Edinburgh Award portfolios. No audition is needed — places are first come, first served. Participants board on site with full board and 24-hour pastoral care. As a not-for-profit organisation heavily subsidised by Arts Council England, BYMT keeps fees accessible: the residential fee is £780 for domestic (British/Irish taxpayer) students and £880 for overseas students, including two tickets to the final showcase, with deposit and instalment payment plans available. Availability, dates and prices may change quickly, so please always confirm details directly with the camp provider before making travel arrangements.
