Acerca de

Sobre el curso

German lessons run every weekday morning in small international classes of no more than fifteen students. Teenagers are placed by level across four groups, from complete beginners to advanced, and work on speaking, listening and everyday vocabulary they can use straight away at camp. The programme covers twenty lessons of forty-five minutes each week, leaving afternoons and evenings free for sport and excursions.

Qué incluye

The camp fee covers tuition, a place in a guesthouse room on campus, full board, the daily activity programme, two excursions each week including transport and entry fees, and medical, luggage and liability insurance. Staff live on site and supervise participants around the clock. Airport and station transfers are arranged separately and are charged in addition.

Alojamiento

Teenagers stay in guesthouses on the campus itself, in rooms for two or three students with their own shower and toilet. Rooms are shared with campers from other countries, which is part of how the camp gets teenagers speaking German outside the classroom. GLS staff stay in the same houses.

Plan de comidas

Full board is served in the campus cafeteria, which has both indoor and outdoor seating. Three meals a day are included for the whole stay, and packed provisions are arranged for excursion days when the group is away from campus.

Actividades y excursiones

Two supervised activities are organised every day, from stand-up paddling, canoeing and sailing on the lake to climbing, inline skating, badminton, basketball and beach volleyball. Each week also brings two trips into Berlin, one full day and one half day, taking in landmarks such as Museum Island and the East Side Gallery, interactive museums and the city's newer neighbourhoods. Some weeks add an excursion to Potsdam and the Sanssouci palace grounds.

Instalaciones

The campus sits directly on Lake Wolzig, with its own harbour and a kiosk, canoes, stand-up paddle boards and sailing boats. On land there are ten classrooms, a cafeteria, a hall used for inline skating, an indoor gym, a fitness studio, a climbing wall, a basketball court, a football pitch and beach volleyball courts, all within the grounds.

Experiencia en el campamento

The camp hosts up to seventy teenagers from more than fifty countries in a village setting about forty minutes south of Berlin, which gives participants a quiet lakeside base and easy access to the German capital. Days combine morning study with afternoons on the water and evenings with new friends, and the operator is a family-run school with several decades of experience running supervised teenage programmes.

Más sobre este campamento

Berlin Splash is the lakeside option among the GLS summer camps for teenagers in Germany. The camp is based at the Blossin Youth Education Centre on Lake Wolzig, a quiet village setting roughly forty minutes south of Berlin by train or bus, and it hosts up to seventy teenagers from more than fifty countries at a time. The teaching programme is built around twenty German lessons a week, four each weekday morning, each lasting forty-five minutes. Classes are capped at fifteen students and are grouped across four levels, from complete beginners through to advanced, so a teenager arriving without any German sits in a different room from one who has studied the language for years. Because everyone on campus comes from a different country, German quickly becomes the shared language outside the classroom as well. Afternoons and evenings belong to the activity programme. The campus has its own harbour on the lake, with canoes, stand-up paddle boards and sailing boats, and two supervised activities are organised every day. Alongside the water sports there is a climbing wall, a hall used for inline skating, an indoor gym and fitness studio, a basketball court, a football pitch and beach volleyball courts. Evenings tend to end with beach games or a barbecue by the water. Berlin itself is part of the programme rather than an optional extra. Each week includes two trips into the city, one full day and one half day, taking in landmarks such as Museum Island and the East Side Gallery, interactive museums and the neighbourhoods that give the capital its reputation. Some weeks add a trip to Potsdam and the Sanssouci palace grounds. Transport and entry fees for these excursions are covered by the camp fee. Participants live in guesthouses on the campus itself, sharing rooms of two or three with campers from other countries; each room has its own shower and toilet. Full board is served in the campus cafeteria, which has indoor and outdoor seating. GLS staff stay in the same houses and supervise the group around the clock, and medical, luggage and liability insurance is included in the fee. Stays are flexible, starting from a single week, with arrivals and departures on Sundays throughout the summer season. Transfers between Berlin airports or main stations and the camp are arranged by the school and charged separately, with a shared option on the regular Sunday schedule and a private option for arrivals outside it. The camp is run by GLS, a family-run language school in Berlin with several decades of experience in supervised programmes for teenagers. Availability, dates and prices may change quickly. Please always confirm details directly with the camp provider before making travel arrangements.
