Welcome to Brighton, a quirky and cool British seaside resort on the south coast of England. With a blend of modern culture, Regency and Victorian history, exotic architecture, and of course Brighton Beach, this vibrant city offers a unique and exciting setting for a summer language programme. The University of Brighton's Moulsecoomb campus provides students with a modern and comfortable base, just a short bus ride from the city centre and within easy reach of London, making it an ideal location for exploring the best of the south of England. The University of Brighton Summer Programme is designed for students aged 10 to 17 who wish to improve their English language skills while experiencing the excitement of a British seaside city. The programme combines 15 hours of English lessons per week with a full schedule of activities and excursions to local attractions and London. The main goal is to bring English to life through engaging lessons, cultural immersion, and exciting explorations of Brighton's unique character and the iconic landmarks of the UK's capital, all while living on the modern and comfortable university campus.

The programme offers 15 hours of General English lessons per week, delivered in classes with a maximum size of 20 students to ensure individual attention and active participation. Teaching follows a communicative and interactive methodology that focuses on collaboration through creative projects and review sessions, using English in real-world contexts. Lessons build all core language skills – speaking, listening, reading, and writing – with a strong emphasis on communication, fluency, and confidence. Students are placed into classes according to their English level, which ranges from Elementary to Proficiency, with a minimum English level requirement of B1 (Intermediate). The programme can be adjusted to accommodate lower levels if needed.
The curriculum is designed in-house and uses engaging, modern topics that students can relate to. The programme's collaboration with National Geographic Learning ensures access to high-quality, engaging course materials that bring the world into the classroom. Each lesson provides students with opportunities to reflect on their learning process and develop critical thinking skills while using English. Additional qualifications available include the Trinity GESE exam, which can be booked in advance subject to demand and minimum student numbers.

The programme is all-inclusive and covers English language teaching (15 hours per week), course materials, registration fees, a graduation certificate, accommodation in university residences, all meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), local transportation including daily bus passes on scheduled visits to Brighton and surrounding areas, and all activities and excursions as per the programme. Please note that there may be slight differences in what is included depending on the specific programme and length of stay. For a supplementary cost of £140 per student, the Trinity GESE exam is available subject to demand and minimum student numbers. This must be booked in advance. Wi-Fi access is included in the accommodation.

Students stay in brand new, modern accommodation on the University of Brighton's Moulsecoomb campus, directly opposite the main campus buildings. Rooms are single occupancy with a private bathroom in a flat of 8 students. Each apartment features a kitchen and lounge area for students to relax and socialise with peers from around the world. The accommodation offers a safe and convenient on-campus living experience, with a bus stop directly outside providing easy access to Brighton city centre within 10 minutes. The residential setting allows students to fully immerse themselves in campus life and build lasting friendships in a secure environment.

Full board is provided, with three meals per day – breakfast, lunch, and dinner – included in the programme. Meals are served in the university dining facilities, offering a variety of options to suit different tastes and dietary needs. Vegetarian options are typically available. Special dietary requirements can be accommodated upon request, subject to prior notification during the booking process.

Fantastic on-site facilities are available, including sports and recreational spaces. Student accommodation is brand new and directly opposite the main campus. Each flat includes a kitchen and lounge area. The campus is located with a bus stop directly outside, providing a 10-minute journey to Brighton city centre. Moulsecoomb Station offers train services to London with a journey time of approximately 1 hour, making the campus ideally situated for exploring both Brighton and the capital. Daily bus passes are included for scheduled visits to Brighton and surrounding areas.
