Über den Kurs

English is taught for three hours each morning in groups formed by level, led by native-speaker instructors from England, Ireland, the USA and Australia. The approach is built on interaction and practical use of the language rather than front-of-class teaching. The language does not stop at the classroom door: the afternoon and evening programme is run in English too, so campers keep using what they have just learned. Fit-for-School weeks at the end of the summer add further English tuition aimed at the coming school year.

Inbegriffen

The day-camp package covers the daily programme from the morning through to the shared evening meal, English tuition with native-speaker instructors, half board, the leisure and sports programme run in English, the cost of the weekly excursion including the cable car ride, supervision from eight in the morning until five in the afternoon, a camp certificate, all teaching and activity materials, and an inspire welcome pack.

Unterkunft

This is the day-camp format, so no overnight accommodation is included. Campers join the programme each day at the youth guest house in St. Gilgen on Lake Wolfgang and return home in the afternoon. Families who want an overnight stay can look at the residential format of the same camp.

Verpflegung

Day campers receive half board on the days they attend, taken with the group at the guest house. Special diets, allergies and other dietary requirements are recorded on the emergency card that parents complete before the camp begins, so the team can plan meals accordingly.

Aktivitäten & Ausflüge

Day campers take part in every part of the programme up to the shared evening meal. Afternoons are given over to sport and time on the water, with the public bathing area directly opposite the guest house. One full-day excursion is included each week, with the destination depending on the weather and availability. A sailing course, tubing and banana-boat sessions and a hip-hop workshop can be booked in addition.

Ausstattung

The camp base is the youth guest house on the shore of Lake Wolfgang, with the public bathing area next door for swimming and water activities. Rooms have private bathrooms with shower and WC, and the English workshops and group programme run from the house itself.

Camp-Erlebnis

The day camp suits local families and those staying in the area with children and teenagers aged nine to fourteen. Groups are formed by level and age, so quieter beginners and more confident speakers each work at the right pace. Supervision runs from eight in the morning until five in the afternoon, and parents complete an emergency card in advance covering diets, allergies, medication and emergency contact numbers.

English Day Camp: Fit for School

9–14 Jahre · Alle Niveaus

Preis ab

The Fit-for-School variant of the English camp programme, run in the weeks at the end of the summer. It follows the same daily structure of English in level-based groups with native-speaker instructors, and adds three further hours of English across the week focused on preparing for the coming school year through targeted exercises, revision and an introduction to upcoming topics. The weekly full-day excursion is not part of the Fit-for-School week.

Three hours of English a day in level-based groups with native-speaker instructors; the school does not publish a number of teaching units per week.

English is used in every part of the day, not only in the workshops, so that children practise the language in real situations and lose their inhibitions about speaking.

Mehr über dieses Camp

This is the day-camp format of the English camp in St. Gilgen, on the shore of Lake Wolfgang in the Salzkammergut near Salzburg, for children and teenagers aged nine to fourteen. It suits families who live in the region or are staying nearby and would rather their child came home at the end of the day than slept at the camp, without giving up the programme itself. Day campers take part in every part of the day up to the shared evening meal. Supervision runs from eight in the morning until five in the afternoon. The morning brings three hours of English in groups formed by level, taught by native-speaker instructors from England, Ireland, the United States and Australia. The method is interactive rather than front-of-class, built around exercises and projects that give children a reason to speak rather than to memorise, with the aim of building confidence and removing the hesitation that often blocks a child in school lessons. Afternoons are spent on sport and on the water. The public bathing area sits directly opposite the guest house that serves as the camp base, and the programme is built around the lake and the surrounding mountains. One full-day excursion is included each week, with the destination depending on weather and availability, and its cost is covered. English continues through the whole of the afternoon programme, which is the point: children practise in real situations rather than only at a desk. Half board is included on the days a camper attends, taken with the group at the guest house. Teaching and activity materials, a camp certificate and a welcome pack are included as well. Three paid add-ons are available alongside the standard programme: a basic sailing course taught with a local sailing school and carrying a minimum age of twelve, a tubing and banana-boat afternoon, and a weekly hip-hop workshop that ends in a short choreography. Towards the end of the summer the provider runs Fit-for-School weeks in the day format as well. These follow the same daily structure and add three further hours of English across the week, focused on preparing for the coming school year through targeted exercises, revision and an introduction to topics ahead. The weekly full-day excursion is not part of a Fit-for-School week. Before the camp begins, parents complete an emergency card recording special diets, allergies, pre-existing conditions, medication with dosage and emergency contact numbers; the team may only give medication listed on that card. For families weighing a first language camp, the day format is often the gentler entry point: the child gets the full immersion and the group, and still sleeps at home.
