Mehr über dieses Camp

This summer English programme runs on the Edinburgh Napier University campus on Colinton Road in Edinburgh, Scotland. Edinburgh is among the UK's most popular destinations for students, known for its universities, layered history and internationally recognised summer festivals. Programme and activities. The course listed is General English, covering the full age range. The setting is the differentiator: a working university campus in a capital city, with the city itself available for the cultural programme. Families should note that the festivals Edinburgh is famous for take place in August, so the timing of a stay affects how much of that atmosphere a student experiences. Accommodation. Students stay in university halls of residence at Bainfield student accommodation, a fifteen-minute walk from Edinburgh city centre. Walking distance to the centre is a practical advantage over campuses requiring daily transport. A university hall is not a school boarding house, so families should ask what supervision applies outside teaching hours — this matters particularly at the younger end of the range, where a 10 or 11-year-old is a long way from the typical university resident. Ages, dates and duration. The programme accepts students aged 10 to 17. One session is currently listed, beginning in mid-July. Families should confirm with the provider whether other arrival dates are available, as a single listed session may not cover the full summer. Location and travel. Edinburgh Napier's Colinton Road campus is in the south-west of the city. Edinburgh Airport is around half an hour away and well connected across Europe. The city is compact and walkable. Transfer arrangements are not published and should be confirmed. Who the programme may suit. This programme may suit teenagers curious about UK university life who want a capital city with real cultural depth, and families who value being within walking distance of a city centre. Parents of children at the younger end should take the supervision question seriously and ask specific questions before booking, since a university campus is designed around adults. Families wanting a traditional school-campus camp will find several in this catalogue, including elsewhere in Scotland.
