No. This is a guided city discovery trip, not a language course. The whole week is made up of visits, walks and excursions led by a director and activity leaders, and the group travels by subway and on foot.
The group is French-speaking and the leaders work in French. No level of English is required to take part.
In a youth hostel in the Queens district, about three hundred metres from Queensboro Plaza subway station and four subway stops from Times Square. Rooms are single-sex and sleep two to four, with a private shower and toilet inside the room.
The group runs with a minimum of twelve and a maximum of twenty-four participants, supervised by a qualified director and activity leaders, at a ratio of one adult for every eight young people.
A passport valid beyond the return date, a copy of the signed exit authorisation for a minor with the original handed over on the day of departure, a signed health form, an approved ESTA obtained before departure, and a parental authorisation for activities and image rights. A recent trip to Cuba can make an ESTA insufficient and require a visa instead, so tell us if that applies.
