Aimed at students fascinated by human behavior and the scientific method, this course introduces the core principles of psychology as an experimental science. The goal is to teach students how to design rigorous experiments, collect and analyze data, and apply psychological insights to understand contemporary social issues.

The pedagogy is scientific and research-focused. In small lab groups supervised by psychology experts, students learn research methodologies, statistical analysis basics, and ethical experimental design. They use psychological testing materials, data analysis software, and case studies to explore topics like memory, perception, and social influence. Lessons are structured as a series of practical research projects. Students actively design their own studies, collect data from peers, analyze results, and present their findings. This hands-on approach demystifies the research process and develops critical thinking, statistical literacy, and academic presentation skills.

A hands-on introduction to psychological science, where students learn by designing, conducting, and analyzing their own experiments.

For over 20 years, Oxford Royale has set the benchmark for academic summer programmes, inspiring ambition and building confidence in students from around the world. Our philosophy is rooted in the belief that education shapes futures, and we strive to prepare students for success at university and beyond by offering them a 'taste of their future'. We offer a unique immersion into life at leading global universities, including Oxford, Cambridge, Yale, and others. Students live and study on historic campuses, providing an authentic experience. A key feature is exclusive events, such as private receptions at museums (e.g., the Ashmolean), debates, and talks by distinguished guest speakers (like Professor Brian Cox). Our community brings together over 50,000 alumni from 175 countries, fostering cross-cultural exchange and the creation of a global network. Our curriculum, designed and taught by expert practitioners, goes far beyond ordinary classroom learning. The focus is on interactive study through seminars, hands-on workshops in 'The Living Lab', and real-world problem-solving (e.g., building robots or participating in mock trials). This allows students to apply theory in practice, developing critical thinking and self-assurance. Each student receives personalised feedback and an achievement report.
