Killary Adventure Company runs its Ed-Venture summer camp on the shore of Killary Fjord in Connemara, County Galway. The seven-day camp is designed for children aged 10 to 16 and runs Sunday to Sunday, with more than 20 supervised outdoor activities, evening entertainment, six-bed en-suite dorm accommodation and home-cooked meals. The camp fee covers accommodation, meals and the full activity programme.

About the Course
The seven-day Ed-Venture Summer Camp runs Sunday to Sunday for children aged 10 to 16 and is the camp's full-week option. Participants follow a structured outdoor programme of more than 20 activities led by the centre's instructors, with evening entertainment and games between activity sessions and 24-hour supervision throughout the stay. A five-day version of the camp (Sunday to Friday) and a 14-day Ultimate Adventure programme for ages 13 to 17 are also offered, as are a seven-day Teen Wilderness Expedition (ages 14 to 17) and a Spanish Language Camp (ages 13 to 15).
What’s Included
The seven-day Ed-Venture Summer Camp costs €832 per participant. The price covers accommodation, all meals, the full adventure activity programme, evening entertainment and 24-hour supervision — the centre states that all camp activities are included with no extra charges. An optional transfer to and from Westport train station is available. The five-day camp is listed at €647, the seven-day Teen Wilderness Expedition at €1,273, the 14-day Ultimate Adventure at €2,169 and the Spanish Language Camp at €882.
Accommodation
Participants stay at Killary Adventure Centre in six-bed dorm-style en-suite rooms. The eco-friendly building has underfloor heating throughout, free Wi-Fi, chill-out areas, a pool room, an indoor games dome and a tuck shop.
Meal Plan
All meals are included and are home-cooked on site, freshly prepared and nutritionally balanced. A sample day includes cereals, toast, fruit, scrambled egg or beans, juice, tea and coffee at breakfast; homemade soup, fresh rolls, sandwiches, fruit and flapjacks at lunch; and homemade dinners such as spaghetti bolognese, pizza, casseroles and stews with fresh salads. Vegetarian and vegan options are available and allergies and special diets can be catered for.
Activities & Excursions
The activity programme runs every day, rain or shine, and is fully supervised. Activities include kayaking on Killary Fjord, the Killary Fjord Aerial Park with 10 zip lines and 32 elements across five routes, the Turf Challenge bog obstacle course, ringo rides, a high ropes course and a climbing tower, with 17 activities listed by the centre in total. Evening entertainment and games are part of the camp schedule.
Facilities
The centre sits on the shore of Killary Fjord at Derrynacleigh, Leenane, in Connemara. On-site facilities include en-suite dorm accommodation, dining facilities, chill-out areas, a pool room, an indoor games dome, a tuck shop and free Wi-Fi, alongside the outdoor activity infrastructure of the aerial park, high ropes course and climbing tower and direct water access for kayaking.
Camp Experience
The camp is built around outdoor adventure in Connemara: the centre describes its aim as helping participants disconnect from phones, take on physical challenges and build confidence and independence in a fully supervised setting. Groups mix children from Ireland and abroad, and escorted travel arrangements are offered for participants travelling to the centre.
