About

About the Course

Lessons follow the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages and are offered at levels from A1 (Elementary) to C1 (Advanced). The course integrates reading, writing, speaking and listening, and lessons are designed specifically for different age groups with a particular focus on communication skills. Students take regular tests so that teachers can monitor progress, and every student receives an end of course report with their confirmed class hours. Teachers are degree qualified and hold an international English teaching certificate.

What’s Included

The programme brings together international classes, host family accommodation, a minimum of fifteen hours' tuition per week with course materials included, and innovative half-day activities focused on personal development.

Accommodation

Students stay with a local host family in Bray. Many families live within walking distance of the school. Each student shares with another international student or with someone from their own group.

Meal Plan

Host family accommodation is on a full board basis, with a packed lunch provided by the family each day. Students can return to the school in the evening for activities.

Activities & Excursions

Half-day activities on campus include film making and photography, arts and crafts, STEAM activities and a range of sports. Each week students join a personal development session: older students attend the Next Generation Career Guidance workshop, younger students a Conversation Club on digital identity and citizenship. A full evening programme runs seven nights a week and may include an Irish night, a treasure hunt, quiz night and a fashion show.

Facilities

ATC Dunluice House occupies four Victorian buildings owned and maintained by the school, with seventeen spacious classrooms, an indoor social area and a private outdoor patio and garden.

Camp Experience

Bray is a seaside town overlooking the Irish Sea. Students arriving in Ireland are met at the airport by an ATC representative and travel by private transport to meet their host family, then are introduced to the ATC staff who are available throughout the stay. Students travelling without a group leader are assigned a nominated ATC staff member as guardian.
