About

About the Course

Two English lessons a day, 3 hours 20 minutes of tuition daily and a minimum of fifteen hours a week. Students are placed by level on arrival, from A1 elementary to C1 advanced, and taught in international classes. Course materials are included and every student receives an end-of-course report. Alongside the lessons students take Film Making and Photography, Arts and Crafts and STEAM workshops in science, technology, engineering, arts and maths, a Next Generation Career Guidance workshop and a Conversation Club on digital identity and citizenship.

What’s Included

The programme is residential and full-board. The fee covers English tuition and course materials, accommodation on the Blackrock College campus, all meals, the activity and evening programme, excursions and supervision by ATC staff and managers, who are on campus around the clock. An unaccompanied minor service on departure is available as a paid extra. Group bookings are organised separately by the operator and include a free place for a group leader with every fifteen paying students.

Accommodation

Students live on the Blackrock College campus in The Castle, the residential building, in shared rooms for between two and five students with shared bathrooms. Accommodation is full-board and ATC staff and managers are on campus 24/7. A host family option is run by the school at the same centre for older students and is sold as a separate programme.

Meal Plan

Full board. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in the campus restaurant Monday to Friday, and students receive a packed lunch at weekends. No credit is given for meals that are not taken.

Activities & Excursions

The activity programme combines creative and STEAM workshops — Film Making and Photography, Arts and Crafts, and science, technology, engineering, arts and maths activities — with sport on the college grounds and an evening programme that includes an Irish night, a treasure hunt, quiz nights and a fashion show. Excursions take students into Dublin and to sights outside the city.

Facilities

Blackrock College stands in 56 acres of grounds in south Dublin, 7 km from the city centre. The programme uses the college classrooms, the campus restaurant, the sports facilities and The Castle residential building.

Camp Experience

A school campus with its own grounds, close enough to Dublin for excursions into an English-speaking capital. Classes are international, so English is the working language between students as well as in the classroom, and the age range starts younger than at the university centres. Career guidance and conversation sessions are built into the week alongside the workshops and sport.
