About

About the Course

English classes run Monday to Thursday from nine in the morning until three in the afternoon, in a part of the school set aside for junior students. Classes are taught by high school specialist teachers, use modern classroom technology and are open to students at any level of English, from elementary to advanced. Lessons are student-centred and built around speaking English with classmates from other countries. Friday is a full activity day on the same hours.

What’s Included

The programme fee covers the enrolment fee, tuition, the recreation programme with one full-day activity each week, and homestay accommodation with an Australian host family. Airport pick-up is not part of the fee and is arranged separately on request. Homestay placements are made by the Australian Homestay Network, the provider Phoenix Academy works with, and the school refers every application to them.

Accommodation

Students live with an Australian host family through the Australian Homestay Network (AHN), the homestay provider Phoenix Academy has partnered with. AHN's services include round-the-clock professionally staffed emergency support, insurance, online payment, online orientation training for both student and host, and a professional airport reception. For students under eighteen, homestay is a condition of enrolment unless the student lives with an approved parent or relative, in line with student visa condition 8532. Phoenix Academy can take responsibility for a student's accommodation and welfare through a Confirmation of Appropriate Accommodation and Welfare letter, and the appointed local carer provides day-to-day welfare supervision together with the school.

Every Friday is a full-day excursion, and the afternoon and weekend programme takes students around Perth and Fremantle.
