About

About the Course

The programme is built around a General English course of twenty lessons a week, each lesson lasting fifty minutes. Classes run in the morning, four lessons a day with two short breaks, in mixed-nationality groups of no more than fifteen students, and the emphasis is on conversational English. Students aged fifteen and over can take an IELTS exam preparation course of the same weekly volume instead of General English during the peak summer weeks. Every student sits a placement test and receives teaching materials and a certificate of attendance.

What’s Included

Each package combines tuition, full-board accommodation at the hotel campus, the activity and excursion programme and the daily bus between the campus and the school. The standard camp format is a two-week stay, and watersports packages add extra sessions on the water with local transport to each activity included. An enrolment fee, airport transfers and insurance are charged separately, and supplements are available for a twin room or a special diet.

Accommodation

Students stay at a three-star hotel campus in the lively tourist area of Limassol, a few steps from the sea. Rooms are shared and en-suite with balconies, and a twin-room supplement can be requested. The hotel has a swimming pool, a green outdoor space for activities and free Wi-Fi throughout. School staff supervise students around the clock, including at night.

Meal Plan

Full board is included for the whole stay, covering breakfast, lunch and dinner. Students who do not stay at the campus but join the day camp option receive a hot lunch on weekdays. Special dietary requirements can be arranged for an additional weekly supplement.

Activities & Excursions

Every week the programme includes two full-day excursions, chosen from destinations such as the Fasouri water park, a guided tour of Paphos with the ancient site of Kourion on the way, a city tour of Nicosia or a visit to Larnaca and the beaches of Ayia Napa, plus two half-day trips to places such as Kourion beach, Limassol old town and marina, a shopping mall with bowling or Governor’s Beach. Afternoons bring beach sports, water sports, social games and optional conversation clubs on books, film, food and Cypriot culture. Evening activities include karaoke, talent evenings, mini olympics, football, volleyball, basketball, bingo, dance classes, a movie evening and a walk along Limassol marina by night.

Facilities

Lessons take place at the school in Limassol in modern air-conditioned classrooms. The hotel campus provides a swimming pool, an outdoor area for games and free Wi-Fi, and students travel between the campus and the school by the school bus. A welcome pack, teaching materials and a certificate of attendance are provided.

Camp Experience

The camp suits families looking for a Mediterranean setting where English is used all day, in class, on the beach and on excursions. Groups are international, so students practise the language with peers from many countries, and the seafront location means swimming and water activities are part of ordinary camp life. Staff are with the group day and night, which makes the format workable for younger teenagers travelling on their own for the first time.

More about this camp

The English Sunny School of Cyprus runs its summer camp in Limassol, on the southern coast of the island, where the school has taught English to international students for many years. The camp is designed for children and teenagers who want to combine language study with a Mediterranean summer: mornings in class, afternoons by the sea, evenings with the group. Lessons take place at the school in Limassol in modern air-conditioned classrooms. Students take twenty lessons a week, four each weekday morning with two short breaks, in mixed-nationality groups of no more than fifteen students. The focus is on conversational English, so speaking and listening are practised from the first day and carried on outside the classroom, where English is the common language of the group. Students aged fifteen and over can replace General English with an IELTS exam preparation course of the same weekly volume during the peak summer weeks, subject to a minimum language level. Accommodation is at a three-star hotel campus in the lively tourist area of Limassol, a few steps from the Mediterranean. Rooms are shared and en-suite with balconies, and the hotel has a swimming pool, a green outdoor area for activities and free Wi-Fi throughout. Full board covers breakfast, lunch and dinner, and special dietary requirements can be arranged for a weekly supplement. A school bus links the campus and the school every day, and school staff supervise students day and night. The activity programme runs in two-week cycles so that students staying longer do not repeat the same days. Each week includes two full-day excursions, chosen from the Fasouri water park, a guided tour of Paphos with the ancient site of Kourion on the way, a city tour of the capital Nicosia, or Larnaca with the church of Saint Lazarus and the beaches of Ayia Napa, plus two half-day trips to places such as Kourion beach, Limassol old town and marina, a shopping mall with bowling or Governor’s Beach. Afternoons bring beach sports, water activities, social games, art and cooking sessions, and optional conversation clubs on books, film, food and Cypriot culture. Evening activities include karaoke, talent evenings, mini olympics, football, volleyball, basketball, bingo, dance classes, a movie evening and a walk along the marina by night. Two watersports packages extend the standard camp for students aged thirteen and over. Over a two-week stay they add stand-up paddle, a kayak trip and an introductory diving course, then parasailing or wakeboarding and a cinema evening on the beach; the intensive option also includes a windsurfing block every week. Local transport from the campus to each activity is included. For parents, the camp price covers tuition, accommodation, meals, the activity and excursion programme, teaching materials and the daily bus. An enrolment fee is charged separately, and airport transfers and insurance are arranged apart from the package. Younger children are accepted on a separate day programme where a parent or group leader travels with them, and the school also runs a winter camp in Limassol for families who prefer a break outside the summer season.
