About
About the Course
A full Irish-language immersion course run by Coláistí Chorca Dhuibhne on the Dingle Peninsula. The day begins at 9.00am with three formal classes, followed by lunch, afternoon activities and evening entertainment. Students are expected to speak Irish throughout the course and must be studying Irish as an examination subject at school.
What’s Included
The school offers a special discount — ask us for details. The course fee covers accommodation at the boarding college, all meals, tuition, activities and laundry. A deposit is payable at booking and forms part of the total course fee.
Accommodation
Students stay at Coláiste Íde, an 18th-century manor house on Dingle Harbour, where each student has a single bed. Rooms are arranged according to gender, age and friendship groups. The accommodation is fully supervised at all times, with staff residing on campus for the duration of the course. Students on a campus course do not mix with students attending a Bean or Fear an Tí course.
Meal Plan
Kitchen staff are employed on site to provide home-style meals, with menus agreed with Coláistí Chorca Dhuibhne. Accommodation, meals, classes and activities all take place within the grounds of the estate.
Activities & Excursions
Irish is learned through activities outside the classroom: sports, trips to historical sites across west Kerry and, when the weather suits, afternoons on the beach. The college also teaches traditional Irish music and dance, with the aim that every student leaves with a few steps and a few words of a song.
Facilities
The course is held on the grounds of Coláiste Íde secondary school, a boarding college set in its own estate on Dingle Harbour, with accommodation, dining, classrooms and activity space all on site.
Camp Experience
Coláistí Chorca Dhuibhne has been running Irish courses from Baile an Fheirtéaraigh in west Kerry for almost forty years. It is a subsidiary of Comharchumann Forbartha Chorca Dhuibhne, the West Kerry Development Co-operative, and a registered charity.
