About
About the Course
The camp is an outdoor adventure programme rather than a taught course. Campers are placed in supervised groups with the centre instructors and rotate through water, woodland and aerial activities across the stay. Two residential options run: the five-day, five-night camp (Sunday arrival at 18:30, departure Friday at 17:00) and the three-day, two-night camp (Monday arrival at 09:30, departure Wednesday at 17:00). Both are open to campers aged 10 to 17.
What’s Included
The residential fee covers accommodation at the centre, all meals, the daytime activity programme and supervision by the centre team. Activity days run from 09:30 to 17:00. Bed packs are available from the centre. Non-residential day places on the same camp are priced separately by the centre and are not booked through this camp page.
Accommodation
Campers sleep in the centre accommodation in the heart of Carlingford village. Rooms are hostel style and en-suite with bunk beds. The centre also operates holiday homes and private units around the town for group and family bookings, which are separate from the camp package.
Meal Plan
All meals are included for residential campers and are home-cooked at the centre. Dietary requirements are catered for and the centre asks families to make contact in advance so that they can be arranged.
Activities & Excursions
The activity programme draws on the centre own activities: kayaking and canoe rafting on Carlingford Lough, stand-up paddle boarding, raft building, the SkyPark aerial adventure course and maze, woodland survivor challenges, climbing and team challenge games. Groups rotate through land, water and aerial sessions so that campers try a broad mix over the stay.
Facilities
The centre sits in Carlingford village with its own accommodation block, dining facilities and activity base, and operates the adjoining SkyPark adventure centre as well as water access on Carlingford Lough. Carlingford is roughly an hour by road from both Dublin and Belfast airports.
Camp Experience
Carlingford Adventure Centre has been running adventure programmes for young people, schools and youth groups for many years, and the summer camp is one of its best-known products. Campers arrive individually rather than as a school group, share rooms with other campers of a similar age and are supervised by centre staff throughout the stay.
